Showtime Season 1 Extended Preview


Dexter is a Showtime original television series starring Michael C. Hall as serial killer Dexter Morgan, who works as a forensics analyst (specializing in bloodstain pattern analysis) for the Miami-Dade Police Department.

The first season of the Showtime series is based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. There's a second Dexter novel, Dearly Devoted Dexter. The third book in the series, Dexter in the Dark: A Novel, will be released on September 18, 2007.

Dexter Season 2
On November 2, 2006, Showtime announced the renewel the series for a second season. It will premiere September 30, 2007. This next season will be original content, and not based on the novels.
